Have these details ready: your contact details, address and the details of everyone you want to cover.

When cover starts: once your application is complete and your first premium is received, your cover starts and the waiting period begins.

R270 per month covers the main member, a spouse and up to 10 beneficiaries.

Funeral benefits include: transport within a 400 km radius of Tzaneen; mortuary care and delivery; a specified casket; fresh flowers and a cross plate; 100 colour programmes; tents and chairs at the home and grave; a hearse; family vehicle support; and the funeral service.

Final arrangements: the exact casket and vehicle arrangements are confirmed with the family. Benefits for children are adjusted according to age.

Standard cover: the main member, a spouse and up to 10 beneficiaries, for 12 people in total.

Extended family: add up to 4 extended family members for R30 each per month. There is no maximum joining age, but the main member and spouse must be at least 18.

Waiting periods: 90 days for natural death. Accidental death is covered once the first premium is received. When moving from an active funeral policy, Wisani may consider the waiting period already served when the required cancellation notice and payment history are provided.

Take with you: the membership book, the ID of the deceased, the ID of the person reporting the death and a bank statement with clear bank details.

Before confirming the funeral date: your arrangement officer will help with the required Home Affairs and claim documents. Speak to Wisani before setting the date and allow at least 7 days where possible.

Service area: Wisani has branches across Limpopo and Mpumalanga and a mortuary in Rosslyn, Gauteng.

Included transport: funeral transport is included within a 400 km radius of Tzaneen.

Other towns or provinces: call the 24 Hour Standby before making other arrangements. The team will confirm collection, transport and whether any distance related cost applies. Wisani does not provide funeral services or transport outside South Africa.
